Black on Black, Air Max Red

I went to one of my favorite Portland cafés called Nuvrei which is located in the Pearl District on 10th and Flanders. Not only do they have some of the most amazing coffee I’ve tasted but they do all of their own baked goods and they even have their own macaroon shop. Whenever I go there they are always friendly and I receive wonderful service.

I had the pleasure of meeting Alex who works and Nuvrei and it turns out he is quite the sneaker appreciator. He says that Air Max is his favorite sneaker and he has over six pairs, but he is starting to collect Jordans. Here he is rocking his red Air Max 1. I like how he styled his kicks with black pants that have a leather panel and layered his tops. Style is on point!

Little Lebrons, Big Spirit

I would like you all to meet a little light of mine and one of the most inspirational human beings I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

This is Suchitra. Suchitra was born in India and was adopted by her mother when she was a baby. Her mother traveled all the way to India to pick her up and bring her back to her new home in Portland, OR. What makes this girl so special is how brave she is. I have never met another individual who is as big of a fighter as she is. Suchitra was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a baby and was told by doctors she would never walk without leg braces and the help of a wheel chair for the rest of her life. However, over a few years full of physical therapy, surgery and hard work, she is now able to stand and walk without the use of her braces at all, and is getting stronger every day. I see such hard work and dedication and I am completely inspired. Suchitra is a little ball of light full of energy and spunk that lights up any room she enters, causing people to gravitate towards her.

And what is the best part? She is rocking major sneaker heat. Here she is sporting her favorite sneakers, the Lebron 9 South Beach Miami Vice. Which I know for a lot of you, including me is a holy grail for us sneaker appreciators. She says she loves these sneakers because “They are comfortable and offer good support in the heel”.

Ms. Sky Hi

Here is Heather rocking her Nike Poncho which is included in the new Nike Tech Pack that was released. The Nike Tech Pack is one of my favorite collections that Nike Sportswear has released because they implemented the use of fleece fabric into their designs which offers lightweight warmth. I love how Heather put together her poncho with a pair of black leather skinnies, her RayBan Aviators and her leather snakeskin print Nike Dunk Sky Hi’s. I love the Sky Hi’s because they are a feminine approach to wearing sneakers for the woman who doesn’t collect sneakers but still wants an athletic approach to sportswear. The snakeskin is fierce and paired with the leather skinnies gives an all around black-on-black, edgy look. This chick is ready to take on the city, but wants comfort while doing so.

God Bless America, and Sneakers

The definition of patriotic is as follows: having or expressing devotion to and vigorous support for one’s country.

This means many different things to many different people all over the world. This may range from fighting for your country or pulling on your pair of Olympic Jordan 6’s because you like the way the red, white and blue represent your flag. Whatever it is, there is nothing better then feeling proud to be a part of your country. For Loren Hilton he likes to combine his sneaker game with being in the U.S. Navy. Upon talking with Loren, I learned that apparently the Navy is rocking heat and we didn’t even know about it! I encourage all of those fighting for our country to show off your kick game and let your kick flag fly. This was special to hear and it made me even more proud of our troops then I already am. For those of you, including Loren, who fight, and have fought, so hard to protect our country we thank you.

Here is Loren’s uniform as well as him rocking the latest Air Jordan 3 “Infrared 23’s” that just dropped this past Saturday. We salute you and your kick game Loren!
